Oh No!! I have to let commercials run in regular time??!!

Many of you out there are devastated when your PC dies.  What will I do?  Will I ever see my old pictures of Auntie Em and my first dog, Toto, again?  How can I keep in touch with all the people I text all the time (WRITE LETTERS!  MAKE PHONE CALLS!  OMG!!  How archaic!)?  How will I know if Brenda Starr ever resolves even ONE of her problems?  I have to wait until 7:30 at night to find out what Paris Hilton has done today??!!

Cry babies.

OK. OK. I exaggerate (but only a little).

I have a REAL crisis - MY TiVo DIED LAST NIGHT!  What will I do?  Watch TV in REAL TIME?  Miss a show?  Sit through commercials so I don't miss any of the programming that comes on right after?

The last time I watched commercials was maybe three or four years ago (except for the Mac and PC commercials.  Those are FUN!)

The real horror is, I might actually miss an episode of a show I love.  Thank GOODNESS Eureka isn't on this week!  There's no way I'll have this all resolved by Tuesday night.

Maybe I'll give in to (ugh!) reading a real book, with paper and everything.  I heard there's a really old good book called "The Barber of Civility" or something like that.  I was told it's about some dude with scissors who goes around cutting the heads off people who aren't very nice.  I'll bet it's based on Edward Scissorhands, only maybe a little darker or something,

This is almost as bad as the time all the power went out in the middle of winter and there was nothing to do except TALK (??!!) to MBH* for hours.  That was terribly awkward at first!  Thank goodness for cell phones.  We texted each other sitting on the couch until the power came back on.

Years ago, whenever the power went out, I often filled the time by playing cards and burning (or "playing") candles.

Nowadays, having a computer is an indispensable thing. I wonder how would we fare if electricity just vanished permanently.

La, la la!  I can't hear you!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN, "if electricity just vanished permanently??

Actually, I hope some day it does and we figure out a zero-environmental-impact form of energy we can use.  Gotta get Bush and his cronies out of office first.

(I apologize to one and all at this point.  I try really hard to stay out of politics here, as I am a businessman and don't wish to alienate my clients.  Sometimes, though, it's just too hard to do.)

    There there....

When we had a project go off the track recently, I made a Smart Playlist in iTunes selecting all the songs with "cry" in the title selected by random and played it all day long on repeat.

    Hi Sid,
I was reading a comment from Wendy in which she mentioned your blog, so I thought I'd take a look. I'll be back!
Anyway, have you started watching Mad Men on AMC? Great show!
I've recently started a blog, "Sweet Home Alpharetta". Check it out sometime!
Please greet everyone on the Haynes Bridge Team for me!

I'll tell them this Friday, Linda.  Email me the link to your site and I'll look it up.

No.  I don't watch Mad Men.  I can't watch any more TV than I already do.  However, I hear it's a really good show.
