Down the left side of this blog are a couple of items I want to explain. First of all, you can subscribe to this blog. If you do so, you will receive email notice of new entries. As they say, "JUST DO IT!" Put your email address in the blank and click the orange "SUBSCRIBE" button. I promise I will never regret your doing this. (You might, but I won't!)
Below that is a list of recommended sites you can jump to from here. The first is my brother Phil's Bad Astronomy site. Go there to get good information on the state of science, astronomy in particular, or if you just want to argue about the state of reality. His is a very popular blog.
The second is the Astronomy Picture of the Day site. All of the pictures have something to do with space exploration, and many of them are gorgeous. Below each photograph is an explanation of what you are looking at. You can see examples here, here, and here. If you right-click on any of the images, it will take you to a full-resolution version that you can right-click and download to your computer. I use them for my screen saver.
